You do not have to be paranoid nor do you need to quake in your shoes every time you have a showing or hold an open house event. BUT you should be prepared for the worst case scenario!
My name is Kate Paris and I am a Real Estate Broker and an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor. I have customized a safety training course with Realtors in mind. Unfortunately, crimes against REALTORS® have risen. We are seen as easy targets and sadly for too many, this is a fact. 90% of the agents I speak to, have the same response:
"I'm not worried; I told the office where I am going. I'll be fine."
Agents need to be cognizant of their surroundings and must stay alert for any potential danger. As a rule, we work in isolated conditions. Most REALTORS® show houses by themselves and far too many hold open houses alone.

Phase 1: Online training
Phase 2: In person gun safety class at the range. One on one training

During the registration process, you will be able to select your time slot for the range. Once you have paid for your class, you will be directed to the calendar page. You may select the day and time which works best for you.
Why Are We Targeted?
1. We tend to work alone
2. We feel safe in our environment
3. We post lots of fabulous pictures on social media
How many of us are guilty posting pics of ourselves leaning on expensive cars? Or wearing expensive clothes? Expensive jewelry? Dining in expensive restaurants?
Yes, it's a great way to get engagement, but it also screams "I have money"
Think about this...
You are hosting an open house and you are doing this alone. You let a complete stranger into the house, you close the door behind you and you jump right into selling mode.
So here you are; behind closed doors with a total stranger. Think about this!
What is your plan if this person turns out be a criminal, intent on hurting you?
What are you going to do?
Do you have a plan of action?
NAR tells us to download an app or use a code word. These things are great but in actuality, what is an app or a code word going to do for you in an actual emergency? An app or a code word will not save your life.
Please be smart and don't be a victim
Get Trained
Take your concealed carry class and get trained in firearm safety.
Learn how to become comfortable carrying a firearm on your person. (Not in your handbag)
Learn to develop your situational awareness.
Learn self defense strategies that can save your life.
Commit to training. Regular firearm training is an essential key to being be prepared. It is not enough to shoot at paper targets; you need to learn how to react in numerous situations as well as how to respond while under stress.
Your job is not just selling real estate, it is also coming home alive and well each night.
You are here because you received an invitation to join our upcoming hybrid class, The COVID 19 pandemic has impacted so many lives. We have all had to adapt because of it.

- FL carry laws, safe handling of firearms
- Safety protocols for REALTORS®
- Training exercises
- Types of firearms and ammo
- and so much more.
Phase 2: In person gun safety training at the range. This 30 minute class gives you a one on one training session teaching you the proper way to handle a firearm.
- How to pick up a firearm
- How to load and unload a firearm
- How to clear a jam
- How to hold a firearm safely
- Techniques to improve your aim
Upon successful completion of the virtual training and in-person range session, you will receive your state required certificate for a concealed carry license.
